Adjustable cam sprocket..

Does anyone have one of these used, they would sell to me for a half way
descent price?
also if i have a milled out head, a mild cam, would i have to set the
ignition timing retarted for it to run right without the adj cam sprocket?
or does this sprocket make any difference? also with it being so reatarted,
would that make the car over heat fast?
