Battery Re-Location Q's

Im relocating my battery to the trunk this coming weekend and had some
questions for those of you who have done it. Im buying a battery box from
summit I think this week and some big wire to to the front of the car. Where
in the trunk do you guys have the ground at? Also, I am hesitant to run a
unprotected wire all the way to the front of the car. Has anyone had any
problems with it being exposed to the elements? I was thinking of getting
some very small PCV (or is it PVC?) tubing and enclosing the wire in it. I
know this would take some time to do working with elbows and such but I
would hate to have a frozen power wire snapped by a stray rock. Anything
else I'm forgetting?
