RE: What hapens when you drop a belt on a 16v?

The 16V is an interference motor..broken belt=broken valves and/or damaged
pistons. Ask Jared, he had his timing belt barely misadjusted and he stuffed
2-3 valves just by turning the motor over. I have heard of only one case of
a broken TB and not stuffing any valves. Very rare. Your almost sure to have
a head to rebuild or worse.

Hello listers.

I have heard if you break a timing belt on a 16v you
will bend valves. No way around it.

Is this true?

I am looking at buying a 16v with a broken belt and am
interested in how much expense is involved in getting
it running again. TIA.
