Bushing removal



ou can make a tool with some length of threaded rod, a deep well socket
(with the ID a little bigger than the bushings), another deep well socket
(With the OD of the socket smaller than the ID of the bushing housing)
and a couple nuts. See where this is going?

Run the threaded rod thru the middle of it all, put a nut on each end and
tighten away.

Tighten the nut so the smaller socket forces the old bushing into the
larger socket. All your doing is pressing the old bushing out. You can
press in the new one the same way. Just note where the bushing is in the
housing before you start. Install the new one in the same spot and your
all done.

It might be obcious, but a big carriage bolt has a 1/2" square on 
it.....make it easier.
