[mk2] starting

  i think this's been run into the ground as of late because of the
rain, but, alas, i haven't been paying attention. my car will turn over
and catch after about 5 or 6 seconds, which is longer than i usually
have to wait. i believe it has to do with the rain here, but would like
some input. the plug wires were changed not too long ago and should be
all right. about the only other thing i gleaned from the list was to
check my battery ground to the engine, body, and alternator (though i
confess i know not where on the engine and haven't strung an alternator
wire across yet). any other ideas? thanx.
