I find that it is easy to go from underneath the cluster, i.e. remove those 
storage trays, and the plastic above that.  The cluster is directly above 
the colum.  Most likely, there is a clip on the speedo cable, which pushes 
in and the cable comes off.  As for the trim;  it should not move, massage 
it into place and then screw it in.
