RE: Shelby Dodge Lancer, oh my!

Yes you could, if its a naturally aspirated one, maybe even if it is an
older turbo one. There was one of those that used to float around Elgin IL,
it was incredibly rusted, and sounded like it was about to die. Man, that
thing would lay rubber into second though.... I heard something about those
old early turbo Supra's. Someone told me that they have a manifold leakdown
valve, instead of a wastegate. I hear that with age, they get clogged or
something, and end up pushing boost parallel with the engines RPM. That
would explain why that one laid rubber into second, but I do not know.
Anyone care to comment?

My cousin has a snow white 89 Turbo Supra. That thing is Badass. It may be
heavy, but it corners well, and with some turbo mods, the only thing it
can't touch is a vette. Some of them came with a 2.5l Sequential Turbo
4cylinder, while some came with the toyota I6 DOHC Motor, which is famous
for locking up cam towers. He got one with an I6, it supposedly puts out
about 300hp now, after a few hundred dollars worth of mods, and fabrication.
It is nice to have a machine shop at your disposal!

Actually the 16v is faster than the 80's supra NA's. The 2nd gen turbo is
of course much faster than a roc but the old 1st gen and 2nd gen NA's are
really not that fast.
My brother has an 84 but its slow as shit ill beat it. The 2nd gen is
almost an even match for a 16v. THey are pretty damn heavy though. I
wouldnt fuck with a new one at all, but actually the NA version of the 90's
supra is only about 6.9
sec. car - not really that fast.
just my thoughts,

Eric Person
86.5 16v
