RE: Great Scott!

Nice story, I like smacking them Ford's with my stock 16V...Go ahead under
estimate me, they go from being relaxed and 1 hand on the wheel to stiff
faced and white knuckled...luv the story...

Subject: Great Scott!

List,
I went up to New Jersey this weekend to drop deliver some swaybars
to Scott Williams, and hang out etc. The whole drive up I seen one
completely trashed hunter green G60, and two incredibly hot chicks driving a
mk2 8v jetta, but they would not even look at my red 16v scirocco :( It was
a nice drive straight up 95, not many police, but the whistler was on
anyways. I was able to do about 80mph in the left lane most of the way,
without excessively speeding, and without riding people. Got to Scott's
place, took a look at his rabbit, and also got to see his badass MK1 project
:) Let him drive my 16v car, then went in to mess with Car Test for a little
while. After that, we decided to go hit some fun roads. After taking a nice
ride with Mr. Williams, you come out of it with a whole new respect for pro
rally drivers :) I have ridden in many 10 sec cars, and been a passenger in
a few AutoX's. If you get the chance, let Scott take your car for a drive :)
After that, it was off to grab some really good authentic mexican food,
something I have not been able to find since I left chicago! Scott is a
blast to hang with, and a really good host. On the way home, coming back
down 95 right by the DE/MD border, I found 2 kids driving a white 89 mustang
GT. I downshifted to 4th since we were coming up to a fairly steep hill, and
I guess he thought I wanted to race, so he started moving. I decided to play
along just for giggles, and I ended up coming to the top of the hill about 2
or 3 car lengths ahead of him! We ended up chasing each other for about
30-60 minutes all the way down 95, and I always came out about a car length
or so ahead. It is amazing the difference between an 8v car, and a 16v car.
I cold easily push this 16v car to 110 uphill! The only place were I could
not keep up was when torque came into play, and he laid a good 1" thick pile
of rubber coming out of a toll both. So I guess mustang's are not all that
fast after all. Hopefully, by the next local/closest list meet, I may have
the car cleaned up more, motor finished, and pretty much everything taken
care of. Thanks,
		Gary Huff

P.S. Scott: If you need a hand doing some work on the MK1, let me know.
