Re: scirocco wheels
Don't just get rims for looks. Think about the tire first.
Rims
13 X 5 are too thin IMHO (175 70 13)
13 X 6 is a good wheel size for Auto-x (205 60 13)
13 X 7 is better for Auto-x (225 50 13)
13 X 8 is beter for Auto-x (225 50 13)
14 X 6 is a good rim for winter driving & on bad roads (185 60 14)
14 x 6 is good for street with AVS Yok's (205 55 14)
15 X 6 is a good size rim for street (195 50 14) or (205 50 14)
All and all 13 ar not that bad. If you have big breaks you can't go small.
What do I have?
13 X 6 BBS/AR with BFG R1 205 x 60 x 13 race on the MK1
13 X 6 BBS
14 X 6 GTI with P600 205 55 vr 14's Street on the MK1
14 X 6 Audi Ronal with 185 60 14 Street on the MK1
15 X 6 Sparco 205 50 15 D40m2s on the MK2
14 X 6 teardrops on the Passat P600's

okay, okay. so y'all like larger rims. i agree. 14" or maybe, maybe
15" wouldn't be bad (i'd definitely prefer 14"). certainly not 16" or
larger (i was at a show where someone wanted $450 for their bent 16"'s
and some guy bought them to stick on a golf). at any rate, the basic
wheels that i have now aren't too bad. one has lost it's ring and
another is losing it's ring as well (because my friend drove over them,
okay?) and i'm going back to college so my income is, oh, somewhere
around $50 a month now (until i find a job). i saw the "tarantulas" on
an mki and was told that they'd be about $60. i was thinking about
sporting up my scirocco, but that seems as if it's going to have to
wait. ANYWAY, i'm just trying to get the concensus on these wheels, IF i
buy them. i would like to have new ones but it has to bo on my budget
for now.
okay, since i apparently have the sub-base model scirocco with the
sub-base model wheels, does anyone have a clue as to what they'd look
like painted black whilst on my mars red scirocco? :)
