Sorry guys the thermostat need something to seal against I think, look how it 
fits in the waterpump to be sure, but t don't think it would seal ever just 
sitting in one of the elbows with a pipe on the other end, correct me if I am 
wrong, as there are thermostats that seal on them selves, independent of the 
casing they sit in.
