Funny, VW would put a Toyota engine in a car and Toyota would put a VW
engine in their high-end car?

This is probably because each of the companies has a patent the other one
would like to use, and they are doing a technology swap.

I always believe if I want a VW, it is because of its unique nature.
Remember when VWoA turned the Rabbit into a Chevette? Sales plumetted. They
picked up when they started selling German cars again.

On the other hands, Toyota motors are undestructible. I know many Toyota
owners who barely remember pouring gas and oil into their cars, and they
keep running forever. So yes, there may be a market for that.
