RE: ICQ & IRC Scirocco Chat

EFnet is lacking nick services, channel services and memoservices. Services
are an added bonus, so you dont have to keep an idle client on to hold your
nick or a bot on to hold your channel. Nickserv is just a client connection
with mode +o that can op you in channels using SAmode so you do not need to
have a client in the channel to keep it from being taken over. try DALnet
sometime, /server lomag.dal.net or webserve.dal.net . One thing webserve
gets clogged as its only dual t1 and it has about 2000 client connections at
any given time. (not counting that it also does SMTP, NNTP, FTP and HTTP :)
heh yes I am a geek :/ Thanks,

Well, I don't have a problem with the IRC-Ops and neither will anyone else
unless you're getting into channel control wars.

What services are you talking about?

For anyone that is interested, here are some servers you can try on the
EFNet network:

efnet.demon.co.uk
irc.concentric.net
irc-w.frontiernet.net
irc.cs.cmu.edu
irc.lightning.net
irc.Prison.NET
irc.anet-stl.com
irc.freei.net
irc.emory.edu
efnet.intergate.ca
irc.ais.net

Like many ISPs, Netcom.com and home.com also have Efnet IRC servers for
their customers.
