the other option is that my dad is thinking of trying to get ahold of 
someone in south africa, as they still make brand new vanagon 
syncros down there, except with audio 5 cylinder engines in them, 
as we have one with 160K or so on it, hwe was going to try and get 
one maybe the exact same color, and then switch VIN's, and have 
a brand new one :)
might work....
