A little story (kinda long)

Here's a little story - true I might add.

A man buys a nice Black Scirocco S brand new in 1980. (No
a/c, factory roof, and that gaudy red interior) This man
enjoys the car for a couple or three years, but then
decides he wants a new car, so he parks the '80 for the
next 13 or so years.

One day a man named Garland discovers the '80 and offers to
buy it. Soon he owns the car and proceeds to get it
running by way of cleaning out the fuel tank (rusty),
installing a new fuel pump, and a 1.8l RD code engine from
an '86 GLi. He also installed a new driver's door because
the old one had been dented, and he re-uphoulstered the red
seats in gray leatherette / cloth similar to a 16v
Scirocco. Awhile later Garland meets a guy named Daun, who
instantly fell in love with this car. Alas, Garland did
not want to part with it.

A year later, Garland did decide to part with it. However,
he sold it to his roomate Ben. Ben really liked the car,
and was careful (as was Garland) not to drive it in all the
icky Ohio salt so the body would not rust. But the
Scirocco was not practical for Ben because he was always
hauling a lot of stuff around. So Ben calls Daun to tell
him to ask around to people who might be interested in
buying the car. Daun simply tells him it's sold, done
deal.

Now Daun has a problem. Daun has too many cars, and has to
make a very painful decision. He finally decides that he's
going to have to sell his '79 Scirocco that he went all the
way to Texas to get. But Daun will not sell it to just
anybody. He'd like for one of his friends to buy it,
someone who will take care of it and not drive it in the
icky salt. Hopefully someone will buy it.
