TWO Sciroccos? Wow- How'd ya do that? 8P

I have taken three engines out in my short life, that plus pulled a
trans for a clutch job while the engine stayed in place.

I always thought it was better to pull the 'lump' out the top of the bay
but recently I have found it's easier to drop the engine & trans out the
bottom and then you can separate them at your leisure.

This requires lowering the motor down (onto a dolly or something), and
then raising the now lightened chassis up to clear.

Dropping it out the bottom also meant I didn't _have_ to take the intake
or exhaust manifold off either. I coulda but didn't have to.

Pulling an engine requires organization and cleanliness (crazy idea, I
know). Get some baggies and a perm marker and as stuff comes off stash
it in a bag (bolts n stuff) and label it. Makes reassembly so much
easier.

Also get that marker in hand w/ some masking tape and label EVERYTHING.
FUnny stuff happens when you discover your assistant wrench has put
labels like Radiator and Hood and Headlight on the right things.

Squirt every thing w/ Liquid Wrench a day or two prior. DOn't substitute
WD40, it's not the same.

Get some new engine mounts while the thing is out. No better time to do
it.

Thems my brainstorming thinkums, hth-
