Re: 2.0 16v opinions

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Ben,

Here's the skinny on 2L combos.

If you are doing on a budget, the hot setup is 2.0L block with a 1.8L head,
as the 1.8 is supposed to flow better. But if you are going to be spending
$$ and going the ported and polished, go with the 2.0L head, as (from what i
hear around here and from others) there is more metal to work with when
porting it out properly.

Both the 2.0L and 1.8L fit exactly the same, and both can work with either
motronic or cis-e k-jetronic. Motronic is a pain to do, because you have to
move to the GTI intake and injection stuff, which is all on the other side
of the car. But if you're looking for that extra bit of power, and are
prepared to spend the extra time and money, then do it, as i hear the
results of a Garrett chip are quite increadible.

The tall blocks you hear of are either the late model 2.0L 8v motors,
available on the A3 cars, or the tall block 16v from europe. one they
fitted to the A3 cars (that we never got). and then there is the other
option, of fitting a 16v head on an A3 8v tallblock (as i think Mr. Hannold
is trying right now).

anyway, thats about all i can think of right now, but if you have further
questions, lemme know.
