RE: 2.0 16v opinions

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Swapping in a late model 2.0 tallblock is a royal Pain In The Ass. You have
to change the oil pump, intermediate shaft, and crankshaft timing belt
pulley. Then, your left with a 8:1 compression motor. Not an ideal match
unless your looking to turbocharge it.

You should be able to find a 2.0 shortblock from a GTI/Jetta/Passat for
around $400-$500 at your local wreckers. If not, Our dear friend and
phenominal resident typist Jonas Miller seems to have a knack for getting
list members 16V 2.0 blocks.

You can keep your CIS-E injection and use your 1.8 16V head.
