RE: Tapping

<x-charset windows-1252>Lifter job! It is not hard at all on an 8v car. Pull the valve cover, pull
the cam off evenly, and slowly taking care not to dig an edge into the cam,
or mangle a cam bearing. Mark where each cam bearing went, (they may
actually be numbered) then right underneath there is the lifters. If you are
getting new lifters, I assume that they will not need to be adjusted, as the
new ones should come with the proper adjustment shims already installed.
Refer to the bentley for anything else, its a straightforward easy procedure
dude. Thanks,

Subject: Tapping

Lately I've been hearing a tapping in the motor of my 1985 8v Scirocco.
Someone told me it is probably a lifter. Any idea how easy it is to fix it,

or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Dan McChesney
