RE: Good Morning

<x-charset iso-8859-1>I parted out a 2.0l 16v rabbit that was badass. It had a MSD Blaster 2 coil.
Don't know if it made any difference over stock, *BUT* its a coil
nonetheless and its about $40. I think thats either comparable or cheaper
than oem. Thanks,

Subject: Good Morning

My big question today is a multi part question:

A- My 86 8v has developed a "hiccup". At various times and various states of
warm-up and fuel tank levels, the car just...loses power for a moment or
two. At the same time the coolant light flashes. As soon as it starts, it
stops and I motor on. Choosing preventative maintenance over getting stuck
I investigated further and discovered the coil resistence from T1 - T15 to
be 1.05-1.25 over the .60+- specified in the Bentley. (secondary resistence
was in spec) I looked at the cap and rotor, old but in spec. And the wires
test out OK too. This morning I will test the fuel injection with a pressure
gauge but I had a few questions right now.

First, can anyone recommend a Hi Performance Coil instead of replacing it
with a stock Bosch unit If it is the coil I wouldn't mind upgrading now.
Second, Does my diagnosis sound...kosher... to the Resident Gurus or should
I look closer at the FI (or anything else) before replacing the coil.

Feel free to voice your opinion on Hi PO coils v. stock I enjoy the debate.

PS please respond direct to me I would love to cover this today!
