Maybe when they switched over to the late '84 (different floorpan, fuel 
setup, spoiler, etc.) I know for certain mine is an early '84 and it 
definitely has 90mm.  I could have sworn my old '84 GTI had 100mm but it's 
gone now so I caon't check ;)
