RE: 16v coolant eating problems($*@()@#$()@!

<x-charset iso-8859-1>No I did'nt actually :/ I am going to drive it like it is, and build a
complete 2.0l longblock for it. I should be able to use the 16v scirocco
intake, and everything else will bolt up. Naturally I will pickup a header,
Catalytic looking resonator and just do it once and for all! I am thinking
correctly when I say with the scirocco intake, that the complete 2.0l
longblock will bolt up right? Thanks,

machined flat, to counteract head warp over time.

Ewan.

P.S. Does 'skimmed' have some meaning I haven't picked-up on.

Was the head skimmed before refitting? If not the there's the likely source
of your problem.

The only thing I can think of is that the head or block is shot. One of the
cooling/coolant jackets is cracked and doing this. I am pissed. I am going
to toss the new accessory belts on it, pay Dirk the $$$ I owe him for euro
stuff, and start building a 2.0l! I have the suspension 1/2 built, just
gotta order the H&R's with new bump stops and strut bearings and toss them
on with the koni's I have.ARGH(#@)$@ I just have no luck with this car man
:( At least I still have the 3 cylinder metro to drive :/

My 16V does the exact same thing after I had the head gasket done, although
I don't have visible leakage. I also get oil in my coolant. I don't much
problems (beyond normal 16V) operating temps. So I guess I don't have any
suggestions just letting you know mine has done the same thing for awhile to
no ill effect other than annoyance.
