Not as far as I know...I've seen dozens of 1.8L & 2L 16v motors
and I've never seen this piece...

If I understand the question correctly, the control pressure regulator
on an 8v engine is roughly equivalent to the dynamic pressure regulator
on a CIS-E 16v.  The latter is located behind the fuel distributor, one
2 wire bosch 'quick' connector.  This is the port I hook up my
multimeter to in order to set/check fuel mixture by measuring the current.
You can also check to make sure your O2 sensor is working this way, as 
the current should be fluctuating as the computer tries to set an ideal
mixture based on the fluctuating readings it's getting from the O2 sensor.
