	If that works for you, great. The cops around here use the Stalker(Ka
band) and Lidar(laser) systems. As both of these are instant on type units,
your only real hope is to catch stray signals when they are aimed at other
vehicles in the vicinity. They also have an assortment of other units using
X & K bands. I use a Passport detector. Around $170 I think. It's certainly
not as good as a Valentine($400) but a hell of a lot cheaper. I don't feel
invincible but I feel that using a detector also makes me more aware of my
surroundings. A little paranoia keeps you healthy.(I should know, I've
worked in the psych field for 18yrs.)
