I am a 16v guy my self and would go for the good condition 8v over the
quesionable 16.....  thaka a close look especially at that door alignment
problem that would be my biggest concern bent cars don't race very well !  and
as far as tha tranny is conserned it could be just time for i new clutch or a
manual adjusting clutch cable.
drive them both... a couple times if possible then decide but body problems
ie. rust and bent unibody are allwasy harder to fix than mechanical
