Windshield washer fix

Hi guys,

We all like to complain about the "pee-stream" windshield washers on
most of our cars, and I think I found a fix. Rather, an improvement.
This may sound silly, but I just did it at a total cost to me of $10
Canadian dollars, and it works great.

Anyways, I took the old tubing off and replaced it. While I was in
there, I also replaced the T-junction. There are three pieces of
tubing - one from the pump to the T junction, and two from the
T-junction to each nozzle. A ten foot length of tubing cost me about
$3, and a T-junction set me back a whopping $1.

A while ago, you may remember me talking about adapting the
double-jet nozzles onto my Scirocco hood (that originally came with
single jet nozzles). These spray a lot more fluid onto the
windshield, and it really does make a difference. I think the double
jet nozzles (I had them on my '90 Golf, I'm sure there were many
others) were about $7 each. Money well spent.

As for modifying the hood to fit the double jet nozzles, all you need
is one of those little "nibbler" tools that chew off 1mm by 5mm bites
of sheet metal. You have to open up the original hole so it will fit
the bottom of the double jet nozzle. Pick up a pair of these nozzles
and you will see what I mean. All of this took about an hour, and
the results are well worth it. And for those of you going to the
March 20th meeting (in London, I think?), you can see it there. I'll
also be signing autographs ...

Cheers,
