The schematic for a 'walking LED' array can be purchased from Radio
Shack or a bunch of different places. You'll find plans in those
hobbyist books or even pick up a ready to assemble kit that could be
retrofitted.

I haven't looked yet but I'd think a search of the net under electronics
and DIY but not speakers :) would turn up _something_.

BTW- I've seen but don't know were to get LED mounted door lock buttons.
They had two little wires coming out the bottom, prob. needed to remove
the door panel to finish it off, but seemed to the trick item.
