Advice needed

A friend of mine and I went out and looked at an 84 Wolfie yesterday.  The
guy swears it runs.  It had no battery, and the wheels won't turn.
Odometer shows 75,000 miles or so.  The interior is not so great.  The
sunroof has been open and leaves and rain and water have gotten inside.
The body is in fair to middlen shape.  There's a small ding on the
passenger side fender, and one on the drivers side door.  It needs paint.
There is no bumper cover on the front.

The bottom line is... the guy wants $500 for it.  Basically, what my friend
and I were discussing is we would split the cost, he would get the
transmission to put in his truck, and I would get the 1.8 to stick in my
Rocco.  Then we would part it out and sell the rest.  Does anyone think
this is a bad idea?  I'm not all too sure what things we could sell off of it.

I guess what I would like basically is to know whether it is worth it or
not.  Is anyone looking for stuff from a Wolfie, and if so, what kind of
prices are you interested in paying?  I really don't know what it's worth.
