I'm not sure it would work too well for the fronts, but i remember a guy on
the A2 16v list made some custom clear north american spec side markers.  He
used some plastic covering from those long tubular lights...  that probably
doesn't explain what it is very well, cause i don't know the name of them.
You know schools, grocery stores, shops.... there are those lights that are
long cylinders instead of just a round bulb, and there is usually a cover
over them that is while but has reflector like triangles or raised portions
all over it?  Anyway, thats what he used adn i'm sure youcould too,
