Lets clarify some info here. I have never had a single problem with a
Bosch Platinum plug. I never use them which is probably why.  : )
However I do know of a few people who have had problems with the platinum
plugs, so this is why I don't use them.

The plug that screwed me royal was the Bosch Silbers. (Makes me cringe to
read those words...) They performed exactly like the Bosch Platinums
performed for other people with the center electrode falling out and
doing wicked damage to the valves. Only in my experience, I had 3 plugs
lose the center electrodes. 
We iz clar now. 

I thought the Bosch +4s are platinum plugs?? Am I wrong?

Well, regardless, im simply just not going to use bosch plugs. NGK's and
Nipondenso plugs have worked just fine for me over the years of driving
that ive done. The NGK Tripple trode plugs perform and last forever. Well
worth the $3 price tag (I think) ive paid for them in the past.
