The sound you are talking about is prolly just the speedo cable not
being put in properly.  When someone took it off and put it back on it
was not perfectly aligned.  Prolly sounds like a quickly ticking sound? 
If this is it, try to just disconnect and put it back.  Keep trying till
the sound goes away.
