powdrercoating readuces thae amount of heat allowed into the metal....
at the shop i work at we use two types a Thermal dispersion coating adn
a super slippery coating

The TDC would go on the thigns that would see fire ..ie exhaust vavles
adn ports, and well as pistons tops..
the superslippery stuff goes where the oil touches ..
you can also thermal coat the outside if the head...
in the exhaust ports it will not allow the het to go into the metal so
where dows it go ..the only place is out....
whe you thermal coat the items that are usually o teh outside or the
airintakes and such,..i have my runners thermal coated so that way the
metal cant let the heat into th meatal so tall the air has to do is go
into the engine..it can lower engine temps by up to 10 degrees or more
depending onthe coating ....it also improves the life and reliability of
teh copmponent..
