Re: AC problem

When an A/C system is open for even a short period of time, the combination
of the air and the refrigerent turns to a acid and can eat hoses, and other
parts of the A/C system. A/C systems are expensive to maintain and not easy
to work on unless you have the right equipment/tools. In your situation, I
would try and find all the specs on your A/C system (entire system oil
amount, lbs of refrigerant, etc) then drain your compressor and once
everything is together, flush the system with a special A/C system flush. I
think you can buy these in the auto parts store, but you need compressed air
to use it. Once it is flushed, evacuate the system, check for leaks, add
the correct amount of oil, and recharge the system. Good Luck!
