Making short shifter

Anybody out there with a short shifter kit (Neuspeed, ABD, etc...) ?
I was about to change some worn out bushings on my shift linkage when I
thought about making my own short shifter. I'm going to machine it out
of billet aluminum(that bent Z piece). Could someone tell me the
distance (straight line center to center, don't follow the bend) from
the shaft to each possible hole.
Also , what is a good weight for a weighted shift rod, 2 lbs?
