Goverment Euro Plates??

To all,

I some how wonder if it was luck or cops were just stupid or I was James
bond and they ignored me because of the cool car :). I was in Germany for
awhile when I was in the Army. I had acquired a 79 MKI (RIP due to rust)
from a fellow from my unit for 500.00 dollars pretty beat to hell but I
wanted it. I kept this car and transferred it back to the U.S. I was running
on the Government issue plates for 2 1/2 years since the plates did not
expire until my day to get out of the Army what luck huh plates that last
3yrs with out reg. problems and smog and when I started Calif. reg. process
well my luck had ended I got stopped and the only thing next to a full road
side inspection was him telling me to take off the plates, a fix it ticket
for a pass. side mirror due to tinted windows and a non-op horn.

Happy to share this
