I think my problem now goes beyond the cat.
Not only can I not get the bolts out of the flanges, but I can now hear
rattling in the muffler, and the connecting pipe between the cat and the
muffler.

I believe the honeycomb has gotten all over inside the exhaust.

These flange bolts are drivng me crazy. They aren't copper, as expected.
They are some kind of hardened metal. I broke two drill bits (cobalt bits
none-the-less) and went through three fiberglass reinforced cut-off discs
on a rotary cutter.

I eventually cut the nuts and bolt-heads off, but I still can't drill
through, or punch out the bolt shaft from the cat. flanges.

This is really annoying.
