The mystery switches are for heated seats.

Thanks to everyone that helped answer the question of "where the OEM fog
light switch mounts".

The reason I mentioned the stick-shift console is because I was roaming
throught the Scirocco micro-fische at the dealer today, and I saw some
illuminated switches mounted there. The exact position is at the base of
the plastic console that surrounds the stick shift. It is the part closest
to the emergency break.. right above the single screw that secures this
center console to the floor.

There is a groove, the shape of a trapezoid, which is just below the
shifter, on this console. This is the spot I'm speaking of.

In the micro-fische, there were 3 or 4 switched mounted here. There were
part numbers (I didn't get em) with no real description of purpose. I just
assumed it was for fog lights. Since this is obviously wrong, mabey it is
the factory location for automatic windows?

I purchased a few after-market rectangle illuminated rocker switches the
other day (one for interior neons and one for an DC/AC power converter) and
they are, suspisiously, the exact height of this 'trapezoid groove'.

Anyone have any other information about the mystery switches that I saw on
the micro-fische?

Thanks!
