Re:expansion tank's sensor leaking coolant?? solved! but.....

yup, you're right ian (my friggin' mechanic toruqed it down way too tight
and it had sheared the barrel body between the threads and the hex head)!
it was even losing 2 liters per 2 blocks (no kidding!) it got real bad to
the point of overheating..... (about two needle widths above the led, about
halfway between the led and max) - i was WORRIED!

so, i replaced it today and the car engine was still overheating and the
fan didn't come on so i had to open up the radiator inlet and pour coolant
through the hose to the engine and then do the same for the radiator. then
the fan would come on and seemingly work.. so i guess that's ok for now
(we'll see tomorrow under regular driving)

BUT!!

when i went to the back of the car i noticed that the exhaust was spitting
out a nice puddle of water (it seemed like it) after 15 minutes or so of
running the engine while testing the coolant system. (i'll post another
email about this one) is my head gasket shot as a result of the
semi-overheat???
