RE: Non-Scirocco Ford & Volvo Merger

This was all over the news this morning. Ford bought the car production side
of Volvo for about $6.8billion. Volvo (the parent company) still owns the
heavy duty truck division and can use the name for those trucks.

Basically I think it sucks, I mean Volvo, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce,
Saab, plus countless others, when will it end?

It's not even like Volvo was doing badly, at the Philly auto show they had
an S40 slated for fall'99 release, in the mid $20's price range, looked
pretty nice.

Where did you here this?  Remember we heard a rumor earlier that
VW was going to buy Volvo, but that's all it ended up being.  Volvo
is on an upswing right now, expecially with the C70's and now thier
luxury S80.  Twin turbo charged in line 6...;)
