RE: used parts/bad mpg

There was a recall on the gas tanks wasn't there. They went from metal to plastic and something about them seperating where the halves are welded together.

aahhh....  leaky gas tank.  i'll bet on it.  i can't fill mine more than
halfway now until it leaves a nice flammable trail behind me when i
drive.  both sciroccos i've owned (81S and now 86 16V) have had leaky
gas tanks.  check it out next time you fill up and drive a while then
stop.  look under yr car and see if you can find any drips.  could be
that and possibly bad O2 or temp sensor making your car run rich.
