Re: 24V VR6 introduced in Europe...VWoA blows



Not the entirely the same engine.  Many, many, many improvements were made,
not the least of which were dual intercoolers, a new turbo, new intake &
exhaust manifolds.  The list also includes stronger pistons, rods and
big-end rod bearings.  Apparently VWAG did not feel that the stock 1.8t
bottom end was stout enough to withstand the added stress for a significant
period of time and upgraded accordingly.
