Slow front wipers

HI guys,

Just a quick tip for those of you with slow front wipers.  I tore
apart my wiper assembly today, and it's amazing how much better it
runs now.

I found a *lot* of corrosion on the wiper blade shafts.  These are
easy to remove - just slip of the C-clip at the top of each shaft,
and slide it out from the bottom of the wiper assembly.  OF course,
it's only a bolt and two nuts to remove the entire assembly (at
least, it is on my '86 Scirocco) and then you can lubricate the
shafts, arms, etc.  A wire brush on a bench grinder really helps this
process.
