It looks like this (as viewed from the back of the plug:

		Yellow	
		________
		|	|
		|	|
Brown		|	| White


In case this looks weird, it's yellow on top, brown on the left and white
on the right.

This applies to both sides. (on the right side of my '82 it's white with
a red or purple stripe, brown with a stripe etc.)
	
I am assuming VW stuck with the same wire colors on the headlights from
1982-1988.

thanks, colors would be good if you have those.

So, looking at the plug, the top horizontal slot
is the low beam.  The left is ground, and right is high beam?

Have I told you how much I hate electrical?
