Re: Mk1 bumper shock drilling



Hehe....deathtrap ....that's funny...I've been driving around for a year
with drilled bump stops and I'm still here

All you have to do is remove the bumper and drill a small hole in the
exposed end of the bump stop.....then just bang on it with a big hammer to
press it all the way in.

I would recommend two things.......cover your drill with a plastic bag/and
yourself too....those MkI stops have a lot of pressure in them and some
wierd stinky oil.  Also, you might consider drilling another hole vertically
through the bump stop and putting a bolt through it just so they never
jiggle out.

To get my fronts in as far as I wanted, I had to cut a notch in the bumper
frame to clear the tow hook.
