It is not the head that is the problem.  It is the oil pump.  If you 
want to keep the solid lifter head you need to swap oil pumps. 

The other problem with the audi oil pan and sump system is that it 
was that is was designed for a inline engine and you will starve it 
on corners or it will have ground clearance problems(not sure on this 
one--just use the one from the gti)

the head will definately work though after swapping to the correct 
oil pump.

I'm not sure about this but I don't think that the 84 GTI head is compatable
with an Audi 2.0 bottom end!!!!!

That's a solid lifter head right?????  Wrong oil pathways and such.

You will need to use the VW oil pan for proper fit

CIS-E is an easy swap....as long as you have all the electronics for the
knock sensor and fuel system.
