RE: Remote starter with a manual shift trans?



<x-charset iso-8859-1>There is a switch on the transmission that is supposed to disable the
indicator when it is in fifth gear or reverse. I'm guessing that if the
light comes on when in fifth gear, the tranny switch is probably out. Does
it come on in reverse too? On second thought...don't try to find out. ;-)

FYI, the indicator is controlled by a combination of RPM and vacuum sensors.
Refer to page 13-17 in your Bible..er..Bently for reference.

hmm thats weird.  My time to shift light has never come on in fifth gear.
