Re: Remote starter with a manual shift trans?

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Dan,

I used to work in the car audio/alarm industry, and when the remote
starters came on the market, manufactures refused to give the OK to have
them installed on a manual transmission vehicle. The switch for detecting
reverse is just for that. If my memory serves me correctly you can still rev
up your car in neutral and keep it steady to activate your shift light, so I
think your answer is no, it doesn't detect neutral.

I would highly doubt that you'd find an installer willing to hook up a
remote starter for you, so it'd likely be something you have to install
yourself...if you can trust yourself to leave the car in neutral.
