Actually, I wasn't asking...  :)
I know for a fact that a properly running MKII 16v will out accelerate a GS-R.
Of course, I am sure that your MKI 16v would toast them.  My buddy has an 81 
Scirocco S that we stuffed a Golf 16v into, and that thing rocks ass!!
