Thanks Brett!
I bought new seals about three months ago.. and never put em in.
I think I'll go outside.. TRY to put them on and see how it runs after
that!!
my idle cold never was good.

This has probably been beaten to death by now... :)

This sounds like air leaking past fuel injector seals. They get old and
brittle, shink when cold (letting air go by, throwing off the mixture
towards the lean side), and expand (and seal) when warmed up. Sounds
like what's happening to you.

Dual outlet sender. About $25 from any number of reputable VW tuners,
no special gauge necessary. Just get an 80psi or a 150psi gauge,
the correct dual sender, and replace the sender that matches the range
of one part of the dual sender.

A fuel pressure gauge probably is not a worthwhile addition as a permanent
fixture. A EGR gauge or a voltage gauge would get my vote for 3rd gauge
in a 3 gauge cluster.

As for as which injection system you have, it is very likely you have
CIS-E...no matter what anyone else says. CIS-E can exist quite well
without a knock sensor. In fact the reason the Scirocco 16v cars can't
easily be chipped is because the knock box was _added_ to the basic
CIS-E of the previous years 8v engines (with some minimal changes like
rev limit). Motoronic integrated CIS-E/Knock sensor/igition control
into a single engine management box. Anyway, the buzzing is normal.

That's the way we like it. :)
