does it always go on? Is it buzzing, or just flashing? The buzzer is for the
high pressure switch, which could go bad, and not affect functioning of the
other sender. The dual sender could also have replaved the wrong original
switch.

(snip)

It comes on around 2000rpm like lets say im idling along at 55mph in 5th
gear, it will come on even though my vdo gauge says that the pressure is
about 35. the buzzer starts screaming, and the light blinks also. Any
suggestions?

Ahhh...you must have an 87! If you're lucky (like I was with my 87 before I
sold it to Mike Leach) one of the oil pressure sensors above the oil filter
mount is bad. They aren't very expensive, so replace both. Also make sure
that the right wire is attached to the right sensor. That RPM range you're
talking about is right in the ballpark of where the sensors "switch". The
low pressure one goes off and the high pressure one goes on (or was that
vice-versa? eh, doesn't matter...). Hopefully one of them is just lagging
behind a little b/c of old age, causing the warning lights to go off. If so,
new sensors will solve the problem.

If that's not it, double-check the wiring from the sensors to the dash. Not
likely the problem, but couldn't hurt.

It that's still not it, your cluster is...well...cluster f**ked. I've heard
from a few sources that this was an issue on 87's in particular.

I always wondered why they would change the cluster for the last year of
production ('88) but I'm sure glad they did!
