RE: Reinstalling rear bumper.



What I did was remove all but the bumper to body mounts (hollow bumper 
cover), then sucked in the mounting attachments.  The bumpers are 
completely useless for collision protection, but I don't care...   Removing 
the excessive weight fore & aft also improves the handling, not to mention 
reduction of the ugly picnic table sized protruding bumpers.  Oh, BTW, it's 
a free & effective modification.

"euro bumpers.  euro bumpers.  euro bumpers!!!!!!"

Sure they're expensive.  But IMHO they are one of THE essential upgrades 
that
BEGS to be done to a Mk2.  The cosmetic improvement is WAY dramatic, and
they're a helluva lot lighter than the huge US turds.

Oh yeah - and this will solve your trim piece problem too!
